HP Compaq Mini 110c
The HP Compaq Mini 110c is HP’s beautifully styled new netbook. Design-wise, it looks fantastic for a netbook, although it’s slightly thicker than some of the other’s in it’s class (it’s thicker than the Asus 1008HA which is a similarly powered netbook). The good thing about the Mini 110c though is that the thickness at least gives it a bit more of a sense of durability, this netbook could be the one for you if you’re a bit clumsy, as it feels like it could survive a drop or two. It’s sturdy design though might not be for everyone, so if you like your laptops to be thin, you may be better off looking at a Samsung or Asus rival (or the MacBook Air if you want to splash out).
The keyboard on the Mini 110c is absolutely brilliant for a netbook, really responsive keys that run right to the edge of the chassis, which makes typing incredibly easy and rewarding.
The Mini 110c is a decently specced up little netbook, especially for the price, and comes with a 160 GB hard-drive which is more than capable of storing hundreds of films and albums, 1 GB of RAM which appears to be the standard for netbooks (they tend not to need more than that to run) and a respectable 1.6 GHz processor.
A great value laptop which has some decent specs for the price (although it’s not as powerful as some of it’s rivals – especially the Samsung netbooks). Comes with Windows XP, but worth upgrading to Windows 7 if you want it to run faster.
