Acer Aspire One Pro 531
With the 10 inch screen, the Acer Aspire One Pro 531 (which is a suprisingly long name, so I’m now going to refer to it as the Aspire One Pro) is one of the more functional netbooks. For a netbook with such a small screen, designed really for internet browsing and email, rather than anything more strenuous, it’s interesting that it comes with a 250 GB hard-drive. Still, best not to complain.
The Acer Aspire Pro isn’t the nicest looking netbook, with a gap between the screen and the base unit, and only available in standard colours. But the Aspire Pro isn’t designed to be, it’s designed to just work. And it does – it has a multi-touch trackpad which lets you pinch-zoom (amongst others), a crystal clear glossy screen and a long battery life. It won’t cope with processor intensive programmes (so no gaming) but if you’re after a small netbook that lets you work on the road, the Aspire Pro might be the right netbook for you.
